Downtown Meeker comes alive during our Meekerpalooza series. This event, held twice in June and twice in July, may be coming to a close for the summer, but there’s still time to catch our final dates on July 14 and 21.
From 4-9 pm, you can peruse our farmers market where you’ll have access to the finest crafts and products from many of Meeker’s local businesses. Catch some live music while enjoying a few tasty craft brews in our Beer Garden. There are also a variety of activities for the kids. Live music at the July 21 Meekerpalooza event will be brought to you by A Band Called Alexis.
Enjoy some authentic western fun at the Meeker Summer Rodeo Series. This event is held at the County Fairgrounds every Thursday night and is a great activity for people of all ages. Events include:

If you’re looking for a true wild west experience, the Meeker Mustang Makeover is a must-see. On the weekend of August 25-26, horse trainers from across the west will compete for prize money and scholarships. Each entrant will have trained a wild American mustang for just 120 days. There are two divisions to the competition:
Trainers will show off their horses paces, do some cow work and hold an exciting free style event where anything goes. Judges will determine the winner and horses will be auctioned off at the end of the event, giving you a chance to take home an American mustang.
The event kicks off with a Wild West “Mustang Mingle” party with dancing and dinner Friday night. The Mustang Makeover competition goes from 10 am till 7 pm on Saturday.
The Meeker Classic Sheepdog Trials is one of the signature annual events held in town each year. Taking place the week following Labor Day (September 6-10), the Meeker Classic weaves sheepdog trials, education, culture and history into an event that highlights the best of our local community. The five-day sheepdog herding competition has high stakes, with prize money totaling $25,000.

If you’re in town for the Meeker Classic, you should also stop by the Jammin’ Lamb Fest. On September 9, you can enjoy a free outdoor concert at the Meeker Farmers Market and Beer Gardens. Dinner will feature Colorado grown lamb, along with a variety of delicious sides and desserts.
