The wide opening helps elderly individuals who often struggle to tolerate an MRI, and it more easily accommodates obese patients who may find it challenging to fit into a standard MRI tube. The wide opening also allows patients to enter the MRI machine feet first, reducing patient anxiety in individuals who are claustrophobic.
