2024 Meeker Winter Events Roundup

The town of Meeker is vibrant year-round, with a variety of winter events that provide fun for the entire family. Whether you’re a local resident or a medical tourism patient from out of town, winter is a great time of year to enjoy Meeker. Parade of Lights

The Parade of Lights is the feature event of our “Meeker Holiday Celebration.” The evening starts with the Courthouse Tree Lighting, which is followed by the Parade of Lights. The parade is held in downtown Meeker along Main Street from 4^th Street to 7^th Street. Enjoy Christmas caroling, sleigh rides, and a variety of other fun activities for the entire family.

This year’s theme is “Woodland Wonderland.” Prizes and awards will be given, including:

• Santa’s Elves Choice

Merry Meeker Woodland Wonderland

The Meeker Chamber of Commerce sponsors a variety of events throughout the holiday season. Support local retail establishments and enjoy a series of fun holiday activities. Highlights of this series include:

Get in the Spirit – A series of events from November 1-15 including:

• Meeker Craft and Gift Sale – November 3-4

Local Love & Gratitude – A series of events from November 16-29 including:

• Cut Your Own Tree – November 18
• Gobble Wobble 5k – November 25
• Elves Workshop – November 26

Santa is Coming to Town – A series of events from November 30-December 13 including:

• Holiday Craft & Trade Bazaar – December 1-2
• Breakfast with Santa – December 9
• Christmas Cantata Concert – December 10

Final Countdown – A series of events from December 14-27 including:

• Tumbling & Dance Expo – December 14
• Claus Cheeseball Workshop – December 20

Meeker Skijor

For those unfamiliar with skijoring, this event is not to be missed. Part Winter X Games, part cowboy rodeo, this race features skiers competing through a snow racecourse being pulled by a horse and rider team. The course requires skiers to navigate technical jumps and grab rings along the side of the track while moving at high speeds.

The Meeker Skijor is one of the premier skijoring events in Colorado. Some of the most skilled riders and racers from mountain towns across the state visit our town to compete for prize money.

Each afternoon, the race wraps up with a Beer Garden/Brewfest Event. On Saturday night, you can enjoy live music featuring the band Troubledsome.

This event takes place December 29-31. Registration is on Friday. Races begin at 10 am on Saturday and Sunday at Ute Park.
